Overview
The most used resource in affiliate marketing is content creation. In fact, it is also the largest challenge — because the affiliate marketer connects with their audience through content. This is how they reach their audience and develop a relationship with them.
This is what you’ll experience on Day 1 — content creation.
What Do We Mean By Content Creation?
It’s material (written, graphic, or a combination thereof) that’s used to address an audience. The intention is mainly informational or educational. Generally, it takes the shape of a blog published on a website owned by an affiliate marketer under their own official logo.
The content is written in prose form — and, in a style that is a combination of advertising copy and factual writing.
Needless to state, the better the quality of the content, the higher the chances of success. There are basically two ways of doing this: writing it oneself; using AI in some form to generate the text. And, although it is the latter we are aiming to elaborate in this post, some writing will still be required. There are at least two reasons for writing it oneself: it makes the material authentic; AI hasn’t advanced to the that level yet.
You could of course hire pens for hire on many platforms — Fiverr, for example. But I still recommend writing the content yourself for the reason of authenticity.
One of the major reasons people feel that they can’t do it themselves is that . . .
Most Of Us Aren’t Writers
Yes, I agree. However, the level of writing required isn’t Pulitzer Prize, or The New Yorker-level. With a basic level of education, it comes down to such basic writing tasks as writing: memos; notes; product feedback. Most of us would have done that sometime.
A Few Suggestions
- Write in your own voice — there are voice-to-text apps everywhere.
- Be informal but not too familiar.
- Be simple — choose simple words and sentence structures to produce factual, pointed statements: “Affiliate program X is educational.”
Finding The Balance
Content creation apart from being the mainstay of affiliate marketing is also immensely time consuming. And, although I don’t recommend full reliance on AI, it can still be useful for research. In time, you could find the right balance on relying on your own writing skills (which will only grow) and AI.
AI-Assisted Content Creation
For the sake of relevance and brevity we will focus on the application of AI to blog posts here and explore how it can be effective tool. Or, why do we even need to consider AI? Content can be delivered in a variety of forms — for example, it can be just a few bullet points at one extreme and at the other a no. of pages in length with or without graphics.
We’re not producing a book-length manuscript. We’re aiming to produce what’s called long-form content. This is somewhere between journalism (op-ed) and advertising copy. The latter part is taken care of in short slogan type statements that are meant to arrest the readers’ attention — to spotlight something that can get lost in a sea of text. It’s the op-ed part that we need to understand — the journalism part.
Long-Form Content
This needs to be well-structured — marked visually as well as logically by paragraphs. There must be a sense of drawing the reader from one idea to another in a sequential manner, leading to some conclusion. As a writer, you need to take the reader exactly where you want them to go in order to engage with your content meaningfully. These qualities are also what make the long-form so effective: it creates the conditions of agreement between the writer and the reader through a series of interconnected thoughts or ideas (often contained in one or more paragraphs).
Can We Use AI For This?
You betcha.
Here are two recommended platforms
- Frase.io
- Writesonic
Just so you know, many of these features (AI Writer) are already available in Wealthy Affiliate, which is a dedicated affiliate marketing platform, as opposed to the ones listed above which are primarily writing platforms. While the AI-writers might enable you to write quickly, they may not teach you about affiliate marketing as such. But learning the core principles of affiliate marketing is precisely what you need before all else.
The two platforms referred to above are not completely comparable — they each provide different features, befitting their intended target. Please feel free to check them out for yourself to ascertain.
So, Which One Should I Use?
The answer to that depends on what you’re trying to achieve — is it simply using AI-assisted writing just for the sake of it? Or, is it your desire to learn the basics of affiliate marketing?
Any Recommendations?
Yes, absolutely — at this stage you need to have a passing acquaintance with the trending issues in affiliate marketing. And, AI happens to be one of those trending issues. You’re not, however, required to chase each one of them — to the point of exhaustion. That’s not the expectation. Your aim is to learn, to educate yourself in small incremental doses until you’re sufficiently knowledgeable.
For this, it is sufficient to work within one platform: Wealthy Affiliate.

This post is already getting too long. Let me come back to you in the next post to elaborate on the issues raised here.
